School for Orphans

A school for orphans whose family members cannot afford the fees for public education began with just thirty children two years ago. In May it moved from a local Baptist church to our own community center where the school is housed. We are still in the process of major renovations of this bar found on the edge of Ngombe. As more children joined the school, it became evident that hunger was keeping them from learning. Financial contributions from private individuals in the United States as well as Zambian businesses and private sources enable the school to serve one meal a day to over 300 students. Each child at the school, and every widow, grandmother, single mom, and teacher has been given yearly scheme cards to the local clinic. Bringing food and health to this community has made a huge difference!
