The Chikumbuso Project

Ng'ombe, Lusaka, Zambia September 2022

From the Beginning...

these lovely ladies have been the backbone of Chikumbuso. Each one playing their part in keeping the entire project running. Sure there are others but I love this picture as it reminds me to sometimes let them rest! They deserve it!

A Happy Dance

Our STARY Program (Skills Training for at Risk Youth)

In 2022 we were able to graduate two of our STARY classes! Due to Covid the class of 2020 was not able to complete their course so Rosemary, our trainer, did a year of daily instruction to help them finish the course. We had a wonderful time with skits, singing, special music, and dancing choreographed by the STARY group themselves! Thank you to all who support the STARY program. We have trained over 300 students in the art of sewing. You are a blessing!

Adventures at the Farm

Our GAP Year Students

Here are our GAP year students on an Agricultural Field Trip to a local farm where they not only learned about farming but also heard an amazing story of entrepreneurship and honesty. How integral it is that they go hand in hand. This January Chikumbuso will be sending these 31 students to college bringing our College Sponsorship program to 112 students in university and 68 graduates! We need help with these new students. Presently we have 11 students who are not sponsored. The cost for one year ranges from $1,300.00 to $3,000. Should you want to help with this please contact me at chikumbuso@chikumbuso.com

and so much more!

We Truly Love Our Sponsors

If you are interested in donating to Chikumbuso whether for its General Fund or for sponsoring a student at Chikumbuso for $50/month donate and use the drop down menu!
